How to measure a door opening

Today we will discuss how to measure a door opening to install a swinging screen door. FYI Hinges of the door can be placed on left or right side of the frame. Measure always width by height. You can use screen doors on most

Step 1

Pull the tape measure from the case.  First measure the top width. Then check the width of the middle and then take measure of the bottom. If the measurement is same then you can go with it otherwise take the narrowest measurement.



Step 2

Take measurement of left , center and right side of length. If all the data are same then you are good to go otherwise take the shortest measurement data.


Step 3

Make sure notes have been taken for all the data. Recheck the measurement if any confusion arises. Its better to draw or print a door image and note the measurement respectively.
